The BTW Environment Team is a selection of experienced environmental scientists with a broad range of experience and expertise.
We provide environmental solutions to clients in New Plymouth, Taranaki, Waikato and Whanganui. The Team is founded on experience, integrity and trust. We take an openminded approach which has gained respect with various clients including, Iwi/Hapu, private land owners, decision-makers and industry.
The Team investigate, monitor and report on discharges to the environment to ensure resource consent holders are meeting their environmental responsibilities. Assistance can include on site procedural or structural recommendations as well as the production of Stormwater Management Plans, Spill Contingency Plans or the development of independent monitoring programmes.
We have several contaminated land experts who specialise in working with the Resource Management (National Environmental Standard for Assessing and Managing Contaminants in Soil to protect Human Health) Regulations 2011 (NESCS) to help design a cost-effective remediation solution for your needs. Our in house suitably qualified and experienced practitioner (SQEP) is a Certified Environmental Practitioner (CEnvP) who can oversee the development of Preliminary Site Investigations and Detailed Site Investigations.
The Environment Teams ecology branch provides innovative solutions for environmental effects assessment, ecological monitoring and ecological restoration. We pride ourselves on finding solutions that create effective partnerships and sustain the natural the natural environment.
The Environment Team have a close relationship with Hills Laboratories and the Independent Petroleum Laboratory (IPL) who process our field samples and offer us preferential rates which we pass on to the customer. We work closely with our Planning Team and the other teams within BTW to leverage off other expertise and provide our customers with an integrated environmental service.
