Mike Gibson has provided surveying services to the Radich Family over the past 35 years, and has enjoyed a long association with Mike Radich.
At a celebration at the Waiau Estate on the 17th January 2015 Mike Radich acknowledged Mike Gibson’s services to surveying in Taranaki, and to his family, with the naming of his most recent rural subdivision at Urenui “Gibson Heights”.
His acknowledgment went well beyond this, with Mike Radich’s composition of “Ballad of Mike Gibson” presented in both writing, and to music with local musician Dr Nic Boheimer of the Blue Monkey Racket Band, composing the music and singing the ballad.
This was presented on a CD and played to the audience with resounding applause.
