RMA Reform – what this means for you
Planning rules in New Zealand are changing. While the Resource Management Act (RMA) is being replaced, many projects will continue under existing or transitional pathways for some time. Others will move into new planning and consenting frameworks as they are introduced.
What doesn’t change is the need for clear, practical advice. We help clients understand what applies to their project, what’s changing, and how to move forward with confidence, without unnecessary complexity.
Planning – Your questions answered
A resource consent is a formal approval under New Zealand’s planning framework for activities not permitted by plan rules, such as land use, subdivision or discharges. BTW’s planners and resource consents consultants prepare Assessments of Environmental Effects (AEE), coordinate technical evidence, and manage the process with councils.
With respect, early kōrero and partnership. We work alongside mana whenua so projects reflect community values and kaitiakitanga.
