Civil design is a core part of our civil engineering services

It is the vehicle we use to help transport our clients’ projects from concept to completion.

Our civil engineers will employ civil design to deliver the necessary outputs for your site including the likes of water and wastewater, stormwater pipes, roads or walkways — the range of services goes on.

How does the civil design process work?

We work closely with our clients to establish their considerations and exactly what a successful outcome would look like for them. From there we can advise the client of which services they will require for the project and any major roadblocks we foresee cropping up, along with alternative approaches they may like to consider.

The relevant team of experts will provide project requirements and analysis from the site to our in-house civil design draftspeople, who then execute a set of drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D design software. These drawings can be used by the client, the teams constructing the civil infrastructure or companies manufacturing materials for the project.

What are the objectives of civil design?

Our civil engineering teams in Taranaki and Waikato provide civil design services to:
  • Provide project direction with comprehensive plans for your project — have a clear outcome and pathway in mind
  • Economise the resource requirements — fit for purpose design that will determine types and quantities of materials and infrastructure required
  • Deliver a design that best meets your requirements and any site or budget constraints
